Is your Alltell Blackberry in 1X in Norton?

No, this is a separate problem from the nationwide BIS issue that happened last week. This is localized to Norton - I spent the weekend in the Tri-Cities, and had no problems whatsoever there.

That's what I thought, too.
This is part of the towers being upgraded, power outtage here, and the BIS outtage.
A combination of all this has screwed things up.

I have verizon, and stay 1ex pretty much everywhere around here.

Good thing is, we will all be able to use GSM phones! which are great!

I have barely been able to receive or make a call anywhere around Coeburn for the last two weeks. The problem started on 12/16. I used to have 4-5 bars of signal anywhere around town. Now it varies from 2 bars to 0 bars. One minute signal, the next minute nothing. Can send texts, but might as well forget about calling or browsing the web.

It started before the snowstorm and hasn't changed in the least bit since power was restored.

Mine's not a Blackberry, but my Alltel service has been a little sketchy here these last couple of weeks. Phone wont ring - not enough signal. On roaming most of the time. Try to call out and get the Verizon notice "welcome to verizon wireless - your call cannot be completed at this time...." so on both land lines and cell phones have to dial 276 now.

It shouldn't have anything to do with the AT&T merger, since it would be wisest for AT&T to wait until the merger is approved and final to start making changes.

Originally it was thought things would be finalized at the end of this quarter, but it's not looking like that right now.

1XEV is the mode for Alltel that allows by phone and data. 1X is basically just phone and text.

Yes, Alltel has had some spotty service and yes BlackBerry had a nationwide glitch a couple of times lately, but that's not the problem with the service in Norton. They are separate issues. The problem in Norton apparently is not impacting every phone. I don't know what's going on because I don't work for Alltel tech support. I just wish they could get enough calls to make it an "active" ticket and actually run diagnostics to see if the source of the problem can be found. Until tech support makes it an "active" ticket, all the CSRs can say is they're looking into it and there will be no other information offered.

Guys PM me you phone numbers, I was given a ticket number and told to call back in under give them all i can gather. Another thing is if anyone goes into the Alltlel store ask for the store manager Shane Barnette and tell him to call and report that issue, the store is supposed to call it in if they have people coming in about it.
I get a 1X at walmart but go to lowes and it's 1XEV, because pickup the high knob tower, but call and report it, tell them ther's a ticker number for the 24273 zip.

Couldn't find the PM thing on yours, but mines 276-219-8673, I'm not having that problem I don't tihnk, but add mine in so it'll help with the progress.

I take that back about the battery thing, it's went back to running down fairly quick? It was doing good there for awhile, not the past two days.

Mine is still 1X and is sucking high tit right now. I can't find to PM you Sat Morn QB but send me a PM and will give you mine, you may already have it, not sure.
